I'm pretty sure I saw a dead woman at the station this evening, in La Défense. Arms outstretched to a tiled corner, Prince biscuits and credit card receipts scattered around her resting shrine - she had nothing of Baudelaire's charogne. She looked already buried, perhaps even exhumed - her knees darkened as if stained by soil. No one stopped, I don't even recall stopping to look, just saw her, and a young marketing executive with airpods, a mustache and a hollow stare facing her unconscious body. Maybe she's still lying there, after all, in transit, we barely appear to each each other as more than a moving obstacle.
